If you have ever fitted a fan coil unit, you know the problem. The coil connection is in one place, the pipe stub is a few centimetres away, and a rigid fitting just won’t sit straight. Force it and the joint stays under stress for years, until it starts to weep or crack.
The Easyflex EFFCB hose is made for this job. It is a stainless steel braided hose with an EPDM rubber tube inside, fitted with brass ends: a swivel BSP nut on one side and a fixed male BSP thread on the other.
Why Choose Easyflex EFFCB?
- Built to hold pressure. The SS304 braid takes the load and protects the EPDM tube.
- Forgives misalignment. Small pipe offsets are absorbed, so no re-cutting or re-bending.
- Tight bend radius. 100 mm for 3/4″ and 125 mm for 1″, handy in a crowded ceiling void.
- Easy to fit. The swivel nut lets you tighten the joint without twisting the hose.
Important Point: Pipes never line up perfectly with the unit. Here is how a flexible hose helps, and what to
check before you order.

*All sizes: working pressure 16 kg/cm² (about 15.7 bar), temperature -20°C to 110°C.
Benefits
- Less stress on connections. The hose flexes instead of passing pipe load to your coil or valve.
- Quieter pipework. It reduces noise and softens pulsation from pumps and valves.
- Fewer leaks over time. No forced joints means fewer weeping or cracked fittings.
- Suits water and water-glycol lines. Not meant for oils, fuels or solvents.
Installation Guide
- Isolate and depressurise the line, then check the hose for dents, kinks or a damaged braid.
- Fit the fixed male end first, using a thread sealant suited to your system.
- Let the hose settle into a natural curve, then tighten the swivel nut. Hold the hose fitting with a second spanner so it doesn’t twist.
- Keep the curve above the minimum bend radius, and avoid bending right at the fitting.
- Fill slowly, vent the air, and check every joint for leaks.
Avoid: pulling the hose tight, over-tightening the nut (it crushes the gasket), and letting the hose carry the weight of a valve.
FAQs
Is it suitable for chilled and hot water lines?
Yes. The rated range of -20°C to 110°C covers typical chilled and heating water in FCU circuits.
Do I need to twist the hose to line up the threads?
No. Use the swivel nut to make up the joint and keep the hose itself free of twisting.
How do I choose between 300 mm and 600 mm?
Measure the straight distance between the two connection points and pick the length that leaves a smooth curve above the minimum bend radius.
Can I get a different length?
Yes. Contact the Engineering Department with your requirement.
